In 2015, the results of an online photo challenge led to something that dramatically altered my artistic life.
I had searched for potential images to enter in an Abstract Photography online challenge and came up with the ones you’ll find in “The Four All Stars” gallery. I was pleasantly shocked when they started getting lots of votes and when the contest ended, I had received a Top Photographer Honorable Mention, finishing 9th out of over 1670 photographers, but the real impact came a bit later
As a result of the competition, I spent some time contemplating the process of originally capturing those images and I realized the process had been as natural as breathing. And the quality of the images, confirmed in my mind by the voting, seemed to speak to a God given aptitude in abstract art. Suddenly I became alive to a new area of photographic art, looking for the abstract in many everyday things. And that led me to create this section of my site.
